Garden City Park, NY: Following in the footsteps of fellow NY-based top book publisher Simon & Schuster, the independently-owned Square One Publishers has now also added BUY buttons from the newly-formed and independent bookseller-focused online store Bookshop.org for its more than 300 titles, including its newest books The Knights of Columbus: An Illustrated History ($34.95 USD, ISBN: 978-0-7570-0308-0) and The Righteous Few: Two Who Made a Difference ($16.95 USD, ISBN: 978-0-7570-0497-1).

In addition to Square One's own titles, they have also placed the Bookshop buy buttons on all titles from the New Age-geared indie house, Rainbow Ridge Books—including their most recently published title, Bringing Death to Life: An Uplifting Exploration of Living, Dying, the Soul Journey and the Afterlife ($16.95 USD, ISBN: 978-1-937907-63-1).

As an extension of its continued support for all things indie, both in work and in life, Square One also shared Publishers Weekly's newest social media campaign #ReadIndie earlier this week across social media on its Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages. Designed specifically in response to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic across the entire industry, PW was also aided in their work here by the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) based across the country in Manhattan Beach, California.

Speaking of the IBPA, they will be holding a "virtual" digital version of their annual Benjaman Franklin Book Awards each evening this week (from Tuesday, May 5 to Friday, May 8). Having won these awards in previous years for more than a half-dozen of its titles across a combination of different subjects (with Health leading the pack), Square One is excited this time around to be a first-time finalist in the "Best Audio - Nonfiction" category for the late Elliot Tiber's acclaimed memoir Palm Trees on the Hudson: A True Story of the Mob, Judy Garland, and Interior Decorating ($24.95 USD, ISBN: 978-0-7570-0351-6). To hear our nominated audio book, narrated by the great actor and musician/songwriter Edwin Wald, we invite you to CLICK HERE.

Oh, and one more thing since we're on the topic of all things "Indie"—this past Sunday night, CBS-TV brought back its beloved "Sunday Night Movie" format by running the Steven Spielberg-directed 1981 action blockbuster Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. If you missed Indy's adventures this past Sunday, though, don't worry—CBS will air the equally-excellent Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) towards the end of the month on Sunday, May 31. Seems like a pretty cool time for all things Indy—and indie!

The Knights of Columbus

What You Don't Know About the Knights of Columbus Could Fill a Book—and It Has!This book tells a uniquely American story of faith in action.
